Rear Main Seal

When mating the case halves, the only problem (I hope) was that the ream main seal kept creeping out. I used Curil T and even tapped it back in a couple times, but 10 min later it was out. This is a 79 930 case.

Suggestions? I think after all the tapping, I will need to get another seal. Its a bit, ah.. contorted.

On a bright note, there was a perfect beed of orange all around the center of the case as I torqued the case-through's and nuts.

Definately pull it out and replace it, make sure you clean the orange 574 from this area before putting in a new one. I believe this is why mine leaked... the orange 574 pushed against the edge of the seal at the case seam.

i put them in dry. dry, as in hole wiped clean and no goober on the outside of the seal.
