any recomended efi books for a beginner?
Im building a 3.3 turbo engine and would love efi. im almost there with the finance for either a SDS or Megasquirt system but, in looking into the whole efi thing, im feeling more and more like its all a bit too much for my tiny brain to understand! so im looking for a good BASIC book that explains the theory of efi to a div like me. can anyone help?

For Megasquirt, check out www.msefi.com. It is pretty much the Pelican of the Megasquirt community.

The Ben Strader book is the best EFI book I read and I've read several in preparation for my EFI upgrade.

Dave:
I've heard alot of people speak positively about the Ben Strader book, so I ordered a copy of it. Evidently, I'm the only one that doesn't think that highly of it. I'm certainly not trying to initiate an argument about the merits of the book, I'm just simply voicing a non-conforming opinion of the book. That's all. It has some good points in it, but overall, I'm just not that impressed. Fortunately I got it cheap for only like $14, so I don't feel like I could ask alot for that price. :) Brian |
Engine Management by Dave Walker is pretty good. Electromotive has a tech manual for the Tech 111 that is good.

Try the Motec site. There are a few tutorials and ECU manuals to download that may help shed some light.

thanks people

There is also a blue book published by bentley called "bosch fuel injection and engine management." Though it does not cover aftermarket systems, it covers the basics of how fuel injection works, in the context of systems like the ones on SCs and Carrera 3.2s. It might not be exactly what you're looking for, but maybe for some future searcher it would.
