checking the case main bores for 'out of round' question

just about to bolt the case together to check the main bearing bores for out of round. do i have to bolt the WHOLE case together? ie all the perimiter bolts etc?

P.S. looks like i didn't get any case through bolts in the box of bits that my 'in pieces' engine came in. just looked them up on pp and....$35 each!!!!!!!!! for just the bolt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Łuck!!!!!!!!!!!

someone tell me they got a set kicking about for a nifty!

For measuring the main bores I would think that you could skip the permiter bolts as long as we are talking about an aluminum case.

I don't know enough about those mag cases to know if they are flexible enough to where it would matter.

yes its a 3.3 turbo case. i was hoping i could skip the perimeter nuts.

thanks

Andy
