911 distributor flyweight springs
First time user looking for some good advice and answers,,,,
I am replacing a Marrelli distributor with a Bosch (to be able to replace the points with an Ignitor). The engine is a 71, 2.2 with Zenith carbs. I have disassembled the Bosch distributor (pt # 0 231 159 008) and believe I have a very good unit except for the flyweight springs. Does anyone have any idea as to where I might purchase new springs? Also, the spring post is adjustable by means of a slotted opening for the attachment screws. If I were to just center the slot, would that be an acceptable "rig" for the advance? Thank you for your help and suggestions! Len |

Literally millions of springs. That's the rub - finding the appropriate springs for the retrofit. You could let their tech people analyze what you have, then come up with some alternate springs. Sherwood |

I had a hard time finding Bosch springs for my dist. I ended up getting Chevy V8 springs from a local speed shop. Summit racing sells them also.

Anyone figure this out? Does anyone know if the springs are all the same, and what they change are the weights?
