OK, what's everyone's opinion on exhaust stem seals?
For non daily driven performance motors I have been told I can leave them off. Since my car is a turbo I am not sure if they would do me good by keeping elevated back pressure from trying to blow the oil out of the guide during boost. If not for that theory I would almost assume that gravity and gas flow might be enough oil control for that stem. Opinions? |

the spring end of the exaust guide is closer to the oil at the bottom of the cam area than the intake guide. the exhaust going past the exhaust guide on the way out, creates a vacuum which pulls oil into the exhaust port. i think you would be better off with a seal. the 964 seals are my favorite lately. they seem to stay flexible and they are easy to install. haven't seen any come off, yet.
