Looks like a T to me.

Zenith carbs and black cowling.

Post the engine number to be sure.

If the engine is not original to the car, where can I find the 911#?

You can also look for the cast iron barrels -- remember after 30 years many engines that began life as a "T" may not be one anymore, parts-wise. Displacement could be non-stock vs. the engine number as well.

Chris nailed it, after 30 years it could be anything. Look for outward signs, eg, cast iron cylinders, but the only way to know for sure is to tear it down and look at what you have.

Outward signs??

Cast Iron cylinders sounds pretty internal to me...
I will get the #'s out tomorow.
Thanks guys,
Austin

You can get underneath the car and you should be able to see the cylinders to tell whether they're cast iron or aluminum.

Yes, it's a 1971 911T engine.

Just for comparison, here's my 2,2 1971 911T Engine S/N 6115192.

Hey Gary,
Good to see I am not alone here, 2.2l wise...
