Page 128, column #2 What O-ring?

In Wayne' book page 128, I'm assuming the O-ring mentioned here is for the no. 8 bearing o-ring, correct? (Asking because this is mentioned right after slipping on the flywheel seal.)

Also, there's no o-ring on the flywheel seal end is there? Thanks!

Thanks

Correct, there is no o-ring on the flywheel seal end.

The only o-ring on the crank is the one that goes around the #8 bearing. Be sure to lube that o-ring slightly so it doesn't tear when you mate the case halves...

Thanks for the heads-up on that o-ring Chris. I nearly forgot about it in visualizing mating the halves, with the other stuff....o-rings case through bolts, sealing curing time, rod/chain holders. etc.,............

Bottom right side of page 128 - "Without the o-ring installed on the bearing, lay it in the engine case..."

Bottom left side of page 128 - "Install the o-ring onto the bearing"

Yes, both statements apply to the o-ring on the nose bearing. Make sure you get the proper one for your car - people have had trouble using the later, thicker style one with the earlier bearings...
