Here a couple of wild ideas:
- I've seen the air injection holes welded shut. Maybe part of the "plug" fell out?
- It looks like aluminum but is it? Could it be epoxy perhaps?
- Maybe it didn't come from the motor at all.
Hey, I did say they were wild ideas..

Thanks guys.. I'll get some other photos tonight and also take some measurments.

It is metal. I tried to see if the rough edges were some sort of sealer but the "plug" is all metal with some type of paint/coating.

The top is slightly rounded (crowned).

Cheers and thanksSmileWavy

Crowned from the too long bolt that pushed the blocks casting out making your ruff punched plug.

Did you look at the cam towers like I suggested?

I did but to be honest I don't know where the plugs for the cam tower are?

I have been looking all over the heads, towers, cam tensioner housings..etc.

If you can easily tell me where the plug is you are talking about that would help.

Thanks agian and I have some better photos which I will post tonight

Cam towers have a plug, This plug seems alittle bigger and not as smooth.

Looks like I will be just crossing my fingers:eek:

Thanks guys:D

Is this bit steel, aluminum or magnesium? You can at least see if it is magnetic? JB weld or other epoxies may be metal filled too?

There isn't much you can do, nobody seems to know that this is the plug from hell that requires complete engine disassembly. :D

Good luck!

It is not a PLUG!!! It is the bottom of a threaded hole that was pressed out by too long of a bolt being screwed into the Block. Split the block to find it but I would just Run It.

quote from snowman: "So far everyone agrees that this dosen't look like a normal plug but is resembles one close enough that no one can say it isn't.

This could make sense. A proper plug would not have fallen out to begin with, so the fact that it may have fell out and dosen't look quite right are consistant.

Measure the plug diameter exactly and post the results. Should be very close to a known plug dimension if it is one."

Is this from the same man who previously commented about someone else's spelling mistakes??? LOL

I don't think so.
