Walking Rocker Shafts

I see I have two shafts that walked. One went right back in. The other will only go so far then stops abruptly (#3 exhaust). I can feel a slight ridge inside the bore at the edge that seems to be keeping the shaft from sliding all the way. I think the bore was damaged by the loose shaft. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem? I'm thinking about somehow sanding or filing (!) the little ridge. Since it's near or at the edge I think the expansion of the shaft will still bite and stay put. There is no scoring on the shaft.

The groove on the shaft may have dug into the bore. If it was me I'd replace the shaft. I just replaced all of mine and I was really surprised by what a bad fit the old ones were. The new ones slide right in. Of course now that I've said how easy they went in, they'll all slide out in operation. ;)

I used the Walt technique. No juices. I also used the groove seals.

Good tip, I'm glad I got it before I buttoned up my engine.
