do you think these p/c will work?
Guys, what do you think of this p/c set? Should I expect to update my 3.0L to 3.6 as easily as this ad makes it sound?

Do you really want to buy something that was "R&D"'ed by MotorMeister? Especially, for $3k? With the Andial 104mm set-up you can make your 3.0 into a 3.6. You still need to bore out your spigots. You can also go the more often done Mahle 100mm or 98mm P/C (JE or Mahle), for a Short-stroke 3.3 or 3.2, respectively. The 98mm P/C don't require boring the spigots and they are what I am going to use on my engine. Take a good hard look at "Carrera3.5L" posts (Ralph). He built a 3.5 with Motronic that is really awesome. You'll see he recently dynoed it close to 250 RWHP-->~290 @ the flywheel. I definitely think you'd be happy with 290.
Bottom line: I wouldn't buy this set. Plus, these guys are renowned for not knowing much about 911 engines...Here's another: 101mm pistons/cylinders will ONLY MAKE YOUR 3.0 into a 3.4, not a 3.6! It will, however, make a 3.2 into a 3.6 (3576cc). I think MM did a little false advertising. Best luck, Scott |
Just about everyone who knows anything about Porsches tends to agree that the 100mm cylinder kits have cylinder walls that are too thin and do not hold up to pressure and heat dissipation well. I wonder how 101mm cylinders would work.
Then again, I have not seen the cylinders advertised here, so my opinion is limited at best... -Wayne |
