911T 2.2 Oil Leak

I have fitted a 2,2 911T engine to my 1966 912 and now have a major oil leak which seems to be more serious than just replacing a seal here and there. It seems like a shaft is portruding at the back of the R/H timing chain housing (photos attached) which is causing this leak. I haven't stripped anything yet and would like to get advice first before climbing in there. Any ideas and or suggestions?
