Question Oil Pump Upgrade Question / 3.2

In my build plans; 3.2 to hot-rod 3.4 I want to install the turbo oil pump and squirters. I understand that the turbo pump has the same feed pressure and volume as my SC pump, but the scavenge side is almost double.

There is currently a pump from a 996TT on Ebay and the guy claims that A) It will fit and B) It is the same pump as the early one but only a newer version.

Most good early Turbo pumps go for $450 and up. I believe that this one will bid for less. Advice please, thanks!!

Hi:

The 3.6 TT doesn't use a 930 pump; these have the normal 3.6 magnesium-bodied one.

These are quite different from the 930 pump as far as material and scavenge capacity.

A 3.6 pump will fit your case if you have it relieved to fit this larger pump, and use the shorter 930 oil pump drive shaft.

930 pumps are VERY good and the only other current equivalent would be the GT-3R one. Personally, I'd use either a 930 one or GT-3R pump.

Thanks Steve. I was aware that to fit the 930 pump I would have to relieve the case in a few areas. The turbo pump is supposed to made of aluminum on the pressure side and steel on the scavenge side. Very durable I'm told.

I think I'll just wait until another good used 930 pump comes along
