A Suggestion For Wayne Concerning Valve Guides
I would like to suggest that Wayne stock some standard sized valve guides.
Reaming out the undamaged valve guide bores in the head violates the rule "if it isn't broke don't mess with it". Since you don't offer them I am forced to buy my replacement guides elsewhere. :( |
what guides do you use that don't have to be honed or reamed to fit the valve? even if the valve stem fit the guide bore perfectly out of the box, it would likely bind after installation.
|
I'm not talking about reaming the guide for the valve, I am talking about reaming the head for an oversized valve guide.
|
that's what i get for posting at 11:30pm.
yes, that would be a good idea. pretty worthless otherwise. |
Unless wayne wants to source some for me, can anyone suggest another source for some nice std valve guides?
|
i get them from worldpac, and they are maybe two hundredths of a mm OS, and they fit well. doesn't pelican get them there too? phosphorus/bronze.
|
Worldpac or direct from Porsche

I'm not sure - again, our catalog is not perfect. Just because it's not listed, doesn't mean we can't get it. Basically, if you can buy it somewhere, we can get it...

Can you look into that for me Wayne? I will order a set of 12 if you can source a set this week for me. As previously mentioned I do think they are carried by one of your suppliers.
I did call your customer service number a couple days ago to inquire about this and was told you only had the oversized, so thats the reason I started this thread. I'm trying hard to give you my money after all. ;) |
Here you go give Jon at EBS a shout EBSRACING@aol.com
He is a friend and will send them right out for you:) Tell him I sent you and he will take care of you like he does me Eric Hood |
