Exhaust Gaskets
These are the exhaust gaskets that came with my pelican rebuild kit. I have 6 metal gaskets shown on left and 6 fiber gaskets in the center, the overlay is shown on the right.
Is the ID of the soft gasket suppose to look like that? The photo in the rebuild book is cut off so I can't really be sure. I am guessing the soft gasket seats agansit the exchanger, or not? Thank all.

the paper gaskets are intake gaskets.
You only need the gasket on the left for exhaust... |

The photo in the rebuid book shows a paper gasket also (pg 185).

some real early exchanger to head gaskets were/are a gray cardboard like material with a metal center ring. the all metal ones are the only ones you need there.
