Exhaust Stud Differences
I have pulled my 1980 3.0 engine due to a couple of broken head studs. While removing the exhaust, I broke a stud and damaged a couple of others (using the dremel method). I went to check on prices for new exhaust studs and they varied dramatically depending on the year model. I'm wondering whether I can use a longer stud that costs 1/3 what the orginal did. Is there any difference other than length?
76-77 Turbo M8 x 35 $1.05 ea. 78-79 M8 x 35 $2.90 ea. 80-89 M8 x 30 $3.15 I am also following the thread on replacement head studs (#212656). The 911 steel studs are a lot more than I expected at over $16/ea. I'm hoping the 993 studs end up being steel since those are less than $10 each. I'll leave the rest of that thought with the other thread.

I suggest calling EBS talk to Don and get head stud prices and info. I feel like the price for the Pelican steel studs may be a bit high.
I assume you are looking at the 911-101-172-00 studs. In any case give EBS a call. Exhaust man. stud....I suggest getting the correct part...again see if EBS can send you a few. -h
