questions about exhaust

Hello,

my engine is in the process of being rebuild (I just did not dare do it myself, plus I do not have the clean space to do so, nor the tools)...

as part of the rebuild process (well after the rebuild), I would like to see what I can do for the exhaust.

my mech is sujjesting stainles stell headers with a sport muffler with 1 exhaust.

has anyone installed such system, do you have before/after torque figures to share showing the improvement?

I have a stock 1980 SC 3.0L

thanks, cyrille

A typical system like this would add 5% to 10% max. More likely 5% in the case of a Porsche. Thats 5% more of torque and HP.

With a Porsche this power gain is a big maybe and you should see the specific manufacturers data to prove it. Otherwise you might actually loose some.
