If Money Wasn't a Problem

Well my '72 2.4 911T engine is completely apart and now I am in the mode "While you are in There." It's raining outside and I am dreaming "If Money wasn't Problem", what would I do?

I would like to pick your Pelican brains and ask you what would you do if you were starting from here. The engine seems to be in good shape other than the MFI system seems to be a little old and doesn't pass our emissions test up here.

Thanks, "Still Dreaming Wade"

I think the first thing I'd do is a search.

Hey henry,

How much horsepower did your 2.6 make?

kenikh 04-04-2005 12:35 PM

The most frustrating part of dreaming about a short stroke 2.8 is finding the 3.0 carrera case. What a PIA...

Why not make it a 2.5 MFI High Butterfly dual plug should be good for 240/250 hp and a lot of fun.

You wont have to change the case but I am sure Henry could give you some better clues.

Henry...

2.8 MFI short stroke.....

How much? Complete, ready to install and out the door..... what kind of $$$ is that thing going to suck out of the wallett?

cstreit 04-06-2005 06:22 AM

Terry,

That really depends on your cams and heads, how much air it can suck... A really hot one will be able to pull your wallet right out of your pocket from the induction pull.. :D (joking)

Walko 04-06-2005 03:26 PM

To make a 2.8 short stroke can you get away with using an SC case?

I believe you. In fact, my wallet seems to be wiggling in my pocket already!

Michael

Only if you use a special Porsche Motorsports crank like the one used on the 962. Probably more pricey than the 3.0 Carrera case.
