911 turbo piston orientation
I want to make sure I'm installing my turbo pistons correctly. Since they are flat topped there are no valve pockets to work with.
The way I understand it, the mark on the top of the piston that looks like a crankshaft should be oriented toward the flywheel?? In other words, standing on the left side of the engine and looking at cylinders 1, 2, and 3 the "crankshaft" mark would be to the left, and facing cylinders 4, 5, and 6 the mark would be to the right. Is this correct? |
Victor, I am no expert but that is the way my Mahle pistons were installed in my 88 930, also that is the way the factory workshop manual says to install them and it is the way I installed them in my recent rebuild.
