Sucess!!!
Yipee!
I just fired up my 930/02 engine after a rebuild and what a rush that was! I got the engine off of the forum classifieds and what was hoped to be a engine ready to instal turned into a complete rebuild. But after ~7 months and money and money, I got fire back in the beast. I rebuilt it pretty stock. I used Elgin's SC330 cam and used the SSi's from the 74' targa I am putting it into. I did the Carrera cam tentioner upgrade with the Woods mod. It was a challenge mating the 74' electrical and fuel system to the 77' engine, but it all worked out in the end. After reading on this forum, I was all ready for the streams of oil or the sounds of gravel coming from my chain houses, but I heard only that beautiful 2,000 rpm purr as I broke it in and did not see a drip of oil. So far so good. The charging circuit has got some small gremlins and I am rethinking taking off the decel valve, but all and all it has been a great experience. I was all ready to go for the test drive when I noticed I had a bad brake line while bleeding it. So, now I am disembowling the brake system. Fortunately that rebuild won't take as long. I want to thank Wayne and his great book, and all you guys on this forum. I could not have done this with out you. Thanks again SmileWavy http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1113193470.jpg |

It's quite a thrill when it fires up for the first time and you know your hands had something to do with it! |
