"s" cams stamping

Hi all, I've tried a search and found some info. I have a set of cams from my '67 2.0; PN 901.105.110.01, dated mid 1965. There is an "s" stamped into the non-nut end in a small triangle. Are these "s" cams? If so how would they work in a 2.7 with efi?

TIA

Don

Don,
Looks like you have an early 901/01 right side cam, central lube type if you engine # is before 903070. Not an S cam. Will not work in a 2.7 CIS.

The "s" inside the triangle is a code for the manufacturer who originally made the camshafts for Porsche. Sounds like you have the early Solex spec camshafts.
The early Solex has 97 lobe centers. EFI likes a wide lobe center like 112 or 113. If you are staying with the original cis pistons, the best cam choice is an SC (113 lobe centers) profile ground on your original 2.7 cis cams. If you upgrade the pistons, a 964 profile could be used.

Thanks John, I was hoping you would reply. I am not sure on the pistons right now; I have not opened it up, nor run leakdown comp. tests.
