Hey Yall, New fella here

I just bought an 1982 Carrera. What would be a good set of reference manuals, books, etc to help get me get familiar with these cars.

Thanks in advance.

I bought our host's "101 Projects" book shortly after I got my 82 SC, and it has come in handy often.

Hey fellow Wisconsonite. Where are you at??

I like the factory Porsche Shop Manuals...if you can find them! Sometimes you can find a real copy on eBya, but they go for big $$$. The cheap ones on eBay are usually digital pirated copies.

Grab a copy of Bentely Publishers Porsche Technical Data book sold by model and year ranges. This book has all the torque specs plus and lots of techincal details that come in handy on those "in deep" projects.

Oh, and if you're going to crack the engine, buy the hosts How to Rebuild & Modify Porsche 911 Engines 1965-1989. What am I saying. Buy this book anyway as its a pretty good read!

Are you thinking about any projects in the near future?

Technical data on an "82 Carrera" may be hard to come by...

Second the nomination for the factory books, 101 Projects and Bentley. Make sure you get the right one, you've got an SC, not a Carrera.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll see what I can find on E-bay and will order the hosts books when needed.
