"77 911S with "76 motor?
Just purchased a "77 911S (#917210086) for parts and the engine # is 6560292. It also has webers. Does the engine # breakdown to a "76 engine? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I show that engine to be a US spec 76 911s motor. This is from "the Porsche Book" by Boschen and Barth. I wouldn't worry too much about it since a "numbers matching" 76 or 77 is probably not worth any more than what you have.
