Replacement Oil Squirter Tubes - ?
I'm just about to begin tearing into my '69E motor to attempt to rebuild it myself with help from the local area Porsche dealer's machine shop, this site and Wayne's books.
No sooner than removing the right intake valve cover and I find that the Oil Squirter Tube in the cam housing is mangled as if a rocker arm had fallen off and beat the heck out of it. It also seems to have spun a little as the oil inlet hole is not lined up to where the oil hose connects to the housing. I read on page 63 of How to Rebuild... that a machine shop should be able to clean and replace the tubes, but I figure that is referring to the tube that is already installed. I checked with the dealer and it seems a new OEM tube is NOT available. How do I go about replacing this tube? My machine shop says they should be able to fabricate one but I'm not sure how critical the fit needs to be. Will I need to acquire a used 2.0E cam housing? If so, would it be best to buy a used housing, pull that squirter tube and put it into the matching housing that I already have? Thanks,

oil tube
You can buy the tubes and the end plugs, If you call me in the morning I can give you a part # from some we have on hand.
