machine work on valve cover

I have a 6 hole lower valve cover with cooling fins. It is slightly warped, about .005 at one end. Can it be machined down flush or is it scrap? Thanks, Bill

it can be resurfaced, but they're pretty flexable, and the .005 will pull in easy when the nuts are tightened. use the thick gray gaskets, not the hard thin green ones.

I had a similiar finding on mine but less than .0035, I plan to use silicone gaskets, do I still need to add gray gaskets that came with my rebuild kit?

Thanks,

Alex
