Not bad! That is in the realm of Nickies w/ JEs.

My pleasure. :)

Your heads will need some creative machine work and modified for double plugs for this to work. One must cc the chambers to see what the volumes are before proceeding as that determines what needs to be done. 2.4 heads can work just fine.

Deck heights are NOT a variable. that must be held to spec; .040 to help prevent detonation.

I shoot for 10.25:1 for pump gas as detonation thresholds are not static; they change with outside air temps and engine loads.

E-mail me directly for pricing. :)

I have a 2.8 using (I believe) the Mahle 2.8 slip ins. The p/o (mechanic) said it was a 2.8 and had flat top pistons (he didn't build the motor). Runs fine on pump gas, runs a little better on 100 octane. Not sure of the cam profile. Comes alive at 4500 rpm pulls strong to 7500, shift point is 7,000. Twin plug, Electromotive ignition, 46mm Webers w/36mm chockes, 1 5/8" o.d. headers, custom muffler. 224 h.p. @ the wheels. This was in a street car now converted to track car. As long as the leak down #'s and compression #'s are good is there any reason to tear the motor apart. This is the second season used as a race motor. I'm not sure how often the motor should be torn down and inspected, or the longevity of a motor like this is.
Thanks,
Harold

914/6 sent you a pm. I'm looking for a source for the 2.8 Mahle slip ins.
Thanks,
Harold

Harold:

FWIW,......I have 1 more set of new Mahle 92mm RSR P/C's if that helps. Mahle Motorsports in German tell me that there will be no more after this.
