tock-tock sound

Hi
After changing my timing chains this winter I have the engine back in the car now and has driven 100 miles or so.

Now I have a tocking sound that I hear on idle.
I canīt say if I had it before the change, right after or if it has developed now when I have driven it.
My idle is quite low right now (500-600 rpm), it might be that because of that I here the sound. Its about 2 "tock" per second at 600 rpm.
I canīt tell from where in the engine it comes, its all over.
Any ideas?

When is the last time you had a valve adjustment?

I did an adjustment right before i put the engine back in.
My first, but I think I was very careful. Could I have set a valve to loose?

It's the most likely culprit... You said you changed the timing chains, are you sure your valve timing was correct? How is the power delivery?

Iīm pretty sure the timing is correct. The engine runs as good as before or better. It pulls strong from about 3500 to at least 5500 rpms.

So if the cam timing is right, it pretty much rules out valves hitting pistons which is good. A loose valve will make a ticking sound, almost like a loud sewing machine...
