Need Tech: Carrera 3.0 to turbo...

My C3 engine has, at a minimum pulled/broken head studs.

While familiarizing myself with the semi-rare motor, I was struck by the similarities of it and the early 930 motor.

I have, at my disposal, a set of 97mm 930 pistons and cylinders, a 3.3L 930 manifold, exhaust system, turbo, intercooler, and wastegate.

Apparently, the early 3.0 930 sodium-filled exhaust valves are a drop-in to my C3 heads.

I am pretty sure I am going to rebuild the C3 into a turbo car, but need advice/info on the following (and anything I may have missed):

Are the turbo heads significantly different than the C3 heads - to the point where the C3 heads are unacceptable for tubocharged applications? I see that the part numbers do not correspond between the turbo and C3 heads...

Will the 930 manifold mate with my C3 cylinder heads?

Will the 97mm P/C set be useable with my early 930 case and C3 heads as-is, or will they require machining to assemble? Will they work with my existing rods (based on 2.7 crank)?

Can I count on the compression ratio of the 930 pistons remaining the same in this application? Will I still be at 7:1?

I was going to have the C3 cams reground to a 964 profile - will this still be a good profile for turbo use, and will I need to substitute one cam with it's 930 sister to drive a scavenge pump (am I correct in my understanding of what actually drives the scavenge pumps in the 930?)

Does the C3 already have a 930 oil pump?

Can the C3 CIS be modified/rebuilt/enhanced to handle the fuel requirements of a turbocharged application?

Can I simply add the secondary 930 fuel pump and wiring for this application?

What am I missing?

I confess, the breadth of my knowledge involves the front-engine Porsches and Motronic, so you will have to excuse my ignorance here - trust that I am reducing that level of ignorance daily!

Thanks in advance for all the detailed tech you can give me.

another question...

another question - am I looking for trouble running this potential 930'd motor through my C3-style clutch and 915 gearbox? Should I consider gearset changes to optimise the powerplant?

The left side turbo camshaft has the scavenge pump drive on the rear. The left side drive can be added your cams.

John - I may have you do the regrind as well. Is 964-grind the way to go in a turbo application?
