Swap regular engine mount crossbar for cabriolet engine mount crossbar?

I have the hydraulic engine mount that twists - any harm in replacing this with a regular engine mount crossbar??

Jeremy,
My 73 targa / 3.2 conversion uses one too. Why do you want to swap?? I think it is there to minimize chassis stresse on cabriolets, right?

No, it's there to dampen the oscillations of the flexy chassis.

There's no harm in running the non-cab mount. You'll actually tighten the car up some. But it will cause you to feel more cowl-shake, but it will be at a higher frequency. But the higher frequency means it's torsionally stiffer.

You're trading the perception of solidity for a little more rigidity. If you're looking for comfort, use the cab arrangement. For handling, then use the coupe/targa arrangement.
