Hello again,
The engine is off the stand and I'm putting in the clutch/etc. The new throwout bearing came with 2 shim type "washers" in the Bentley book it shows one on the outside of the "tooth" washer but I don't know where the other one would go of if it is needed...? The sequence as far as I can tell is: 1. put shim on the bearing 2. put tooth washer on the bearing 3. put bearing in pressure plate 4. put heavy cast? shim on with "tooth" up 5. press down 6. install the round cross section ring 7. release press also....we tried to take the bearing apart to add grease....some said they usually don't have enough grease....took the snap ring off and couldn't get much to happen and didn't want to start beating on things so put it back together. The bearing feels like it has a good amount of grease and feels very smooth. any quickish replies are welcome....I'm in my garage now doing the assembly. thanks very much. BTW - engine lifting and hook up team arriving starting tomorrow AM - snaks and drinks provided...I was told that the quality of the help is a direct function of the quality of snaks and beer provided. -Henry
