hole in pickup of oil pump on 3.0 liter

Bought a no history non running 3.0 to replace my troubled 2.7 liter.. My worst worry was when I took the bent and misaligned sump plates off... ( unable to upload !@#$%^) pictures... all bits seem to be accounted for, the loose strand (flattened along one end, by a big end bearing) I need some ideas on an in situ aluminum repair,, tig weld the hole shut,?, or J B epoxy ( good for 300 deg f.) is that high enough? sufice to describe the ovel 1/2" wide hole much thanks, gerry rad 76 911s
