Flywheel Bolts - Interchangeability
I'm ordering parts to install the replacement engine in the 914/6 with a 1977 2.7.
I was shocked at the difference in the price for flywheel bolts: 911 - 1974 to 1977: 911-102-171-00 $9.06 each 911 - 1978 to 1989: 930-102-206-00 $1.05 each Why are the earlier bolts so much more expensive? Can the later bolts be used on the earlier engine/flywheel? Is there another alternative? Thanks Eddie |

They're different sizes so they can't be interchanged. It's a special low head, highly loaded screw so safe, cheap alternatives are not likely to be available.
