Scratched Rocker arm bore?

(Engine is on a stand)
I scratched the rocker arm bore with a small punch. Will I need a new housing? Will it leak? Is there any way to fix the scratches?

I'm new at this, please help.

Is the scratch the entire length of the bore.

How deep is the scratch. Can you smooth out the scratch.

Are you assembling the motor, or would you have to completely disassemble the motor to change it.

If you are just now assembling it, I would change it.

If you are not, I would smooth out the scratch (use a rounded metal tool to form over the edge of the scratch)

Get the seals and seal up the shaft. (I would add the seals to all the shafts if you have them out. Cheep insurance.

The scratch is not very big, about an quarter of an inch, it's about a as deep as the edge on the face of a penny.
I'm tearing the engine down right now (3.0 with webers) and could get new cam housings.

I just don't want a leak!

If you repair it and use seals I am sure it will not leak, but if it is out spend the money and change it.

Thanks

Ed
