New In The Forum
HELLO FOR ALL. I AM NEW IN THIS FORUM. I AM FROM SPAIN AND MY ENGLISH IS VERY BAD, SORRY.
PLEASE PLEASE, I NEED TO KNOW THE ANWSER TO THIS QUESTION. When I install the Turbo valve covers, I use a new set of valve cover SILICONS gaskets, but I don't know if Iwould not torque them greater than 8 ft-lbS, as the normal valve silicons gasket. in spanish. cuando instalo las tpas de valvulas del turbo, y uso juntas de silicona, no se si el par de apreite no debe ser mayor de 8 como en el caso de las juntas normales o si el par de apriete debe ser menor. thanks very much. |
Mine seals just fine at 7-8 ft. lbs. I wouldn't go much more or you will extrude the gasket.
|
make sure you use a torque wrench that measures in inch pounds instead of foot pounds as 7-8lbs on the foot pound wrench will not be very accurate.
|
I would suggest less torque, about 5-6 ftlbs (60-72 inlbs).

THANKS VERY MUCH
