EuroSC vs. US Injectors?
Part of the rebuild is revitilizing the FI. I checked the injector part numbers for Euro (my car) and US and they differ...
Do the actual parts really differ? Pelican does not distinguish between the two in the catalog. Should I buy new or have mine reconditioned/matched? Thanks! -Michael |
I put whatever the Bosch people in the USA sell for 83 SCs in my Euro SC (930/10 motor) and they worked great.

Let me see if I can help a little:
With EFI systems, It is very important that the injectors used are the correct flow rate, because the control unit makes the assumption that they will flow a certain amount if kept open for a given amount of time (like 400cc/min or whatever), and based on that opens them for a time period to get the amount of fuel the ECU thinks is needed. With CIS and MFI for that matter, the flow rate is not controlled at the injector, it is controlled at the fuel head and MFI pump respectively. For this reason, I suspect but cannot prove that the US and euro injectors are the same. They are just meant to spray properly, while the fuel head meters the correct amount of fuel. |
Sounds good to me :)
now, should I refurb/match them or just buy new ones? -Michael |
what is the price difference? I haven't had this done but the CIS injectors are so simple that refurbing should just be cleaning and a new o-ring, no big deal. If done properly, I imagine they would be "as new". Who does this service?

Hi
Checking PET for an 82 SC there is only one part no (911 110 225 01) are you sure its not a supercession? or are you comparing Bosch Numbers Neven |
I don't think that these injectors can be cleaned. They have a screen inside that plugs up, and the pintle wears. A new set, with o-rings, is less than $200 from our host. It would probably be money well spent if your injectors are over 10 years old.

NevenM - I found a 911.110.225.01 and an .02 in my PET. No Bosch #s though so I couldn't tell if they were the same.
I'm thinking I 'll just get new ones. Mine are probably 23 years old and if Tom F2 is correct then they certainly should be worn out... <$200 is relatively cheap :) Blau - I do not have a place in mind that refurbs but have head of places that match injectors. But, it may be that these places are geared more toward the EFI types then our CIS mechanical styles. -Michael |
