Not yet. my mates still coming to terms with the cost implications. there may be another option but im not sure he'll have the nerve to do it......

Is this a euro import? or an import from japan? If its a euro import it should have the full waranty regardless of wether its a import into the UK or not, its EU law that a waranty offered in one EU state must be upheld in any EU state.

Was the CEL on? No codes like misfires, knock sensor etc?

Under the European Directive on certain aspects of the sale of consumer goods and associated guarantees (1999/44/EC),

Did he buy it after that date?

i think its about 2 yrs old-he bought it with a 1 yr warranty, which is written in ink...he did look into some sort of help from subaru but was told that the car was only given a 1 yr warranty as it was an unnoficial import
