Solex carb 2L engine..cams?

Hello, all. I'd appreciate advice on cams for a race engine for the FIA Appendix K...with the small early valves..Solex carbs,.. high compression forged pistons..and nice headers..and a close ratio gearbox and excellent driver.. I'm tempted to use the stock S cam, but wonder if Camgrinder has something better.... Or has anyone experience of this type of engine to offer? I'd be very grateful for advice.. Kind regards David

OK, this is a new one for me, so I went and downloaded FIA Appendix K, it says you can only use a chassis up to 305 100 and Webers are only usable for "Period G" for GTS class which is why I assume you're using Solexes. 5-1/2" Fuchs wheels, Lobro Halfshafts OK. Seems to me that after that it's a question about what makes the best 2,0 liter screamer motor, right?

The "Mod-S" (DC40) cams are always better than an S profile. What kind of RPM do you expect to turn? And how much compression can you get?

H4ello, John. I'm hoping to make 11:1 with some careful machining, and I'll be rounding off the piston crown as we can only run single plug... With the clos box we'd like to be making good power between 5.5 and 7.5 K, with a limit at the end of the Pit Straight of 8K.. Kind regards David

Is this a race gas motor? If so, I thought you could run nearly 13:1 on these motors. If not, is 11:1 feasible on single plugs and pump gas on a 2.0?

13-1 is tough to make on a 2.0 litre without welding up the combustion chambers.

But not with 2.2 or 2.4 liter heads, right?
