3.6L Electromotive XDi Ignition Map Suggestions
Just finished the installation of my 3.6L engine.
I am looking for people that can suggest a proper base-line ignition map for a 91 octane setup. I need the map for the Electromotive XDi ignition. Baseline Timing 3000 RPM Timing 8000 RPM Timing Retard Timing Specs: 3.6L 946 engine Modified Cylinder Heads (larger valves) WebCam SuperSport Grind Patrick MotorSport 1.75" headers PMO 50mm Carbs Electromotive XDi crank fire twin plug Thanks, TonyGhttp://www.tonygarcia.org/911SC/3.6L-1.jpg |
Timing
We have an engine dyno and have set up quite a few Xdi and the earlier systems,I like around 15 deg. initial, set the 3000 to get a total of 28-30 deg. and set the 8000 at zero and these seem to have almost no timing drift at full RPM compaired to the earlier electromotive systems which Had to be checked at full RPM to be sure they didnt retard the timing, usually 5- 10 deg. were not uncommon.
Good Luck, Mike Bruns JBRacing.com |
I run the XDI twin plug setup on my 3.0 race car with 10.2 comp. and 100 octane race fuel. I found 12 deg. baseline, 16 deg. added at 3000 for a totla of 28 deg., and zero retard to be optimum for my configuration.

Nice-looking engine but what's up with the duct tape.... ;)

Duct tape? What duct tape?
I was hoping nobody would notice. TonyG |
Just like you were hoping nobody would notice the money you owe me? C'mon Tony, pay up.
