Engine Thermostat
 
Is it okay to reuse these (part # 930 107 765 00)? If so, what needs to be inspected to make sure it is okay? This is for a 78SC rebuild.

is this the one on the top?? if so they are about fool proof/ you can test it in a pan of ho2 with temp guage..........

That's the one. At what temp should it open/close?

Guessing, but probably around 176F.

most at 210......there are exceptions...and there are adjustable ones too found this all out the hard way thought my old one was opening late ,,the new on is just the same, checked a 3 rd used one.....all opened at 210.
took one apart, they are Murphy proof.... wax or paraffin melts and opens the door,,, murphy proof !!
