Injector Testing

Im wanting to test my fuel injectors to see if they need cleaning while there off for my eninge rebuild. Does anyone know how to trigger the injectors, I belive under normal operation its 12v pulsed dc voltage. What im wanting to know is can I trigger them to be constantly open by simply using 12v dc not pulsed?

Thanks Steve

I assume we aren't talking about a '72 motor here. ;)
You cannot use a non-pulsed source to hold them open - or least not if you don't want to burn them up.
Someone can correct me here, but I think in operation, the injector is opened initially by a greater current then what is used to keep it open. In other words, even using a pulsed 12v source might not be sufficiently safe.

Depends if they are high or low impedance injectors.

If they are low impedance injectors they will burn up fast unless you drive them with pulsewidth modulated signal.
