'91 Turbo p/c's with 930 heads??
Something doesn't seem right here... Have set of 91 turbo p/c's to use on my 82 930 engine rebuild. The extension of the cylinder is not long enough to bottom out on the head sealing surface (ref pic), there will be about an 0.3mm gap.
Thought the heads might be over cut, but have some old ones and they look fine. I have one stock cylinder and the 2.4mm dim on the pic is about 2.8mm. Are these not compatable? Was there a head gasket on the 91's? ![]() |

Not a real big deal. No head gasket, just lap them into the head. You can flame ring them if you want, but for normally aspirated it's probably overkill :-) If you want to use those cylinders, you can just turn the top fin off partially. Make sure you have a big radius on the cutter so you don't leave any sharp edges between the top of the fin and the top o.d. of the cylinder.

Thanks. Actually that is how I found the problem. I was lapping the head into the cyl and the surfaces didn't touch! I just had someone else tell me the '91/'92 C2 turbo's had a head gasket of sorts that was ~0.5mm. Think I'm going to get some of them and go that route.
