oil pressure relief springs
I just noticed tonight that my 78SC has equal spring size for both of the oil pressure releif pistons. It also has no sleeve/guide on the one from the bottom of the case. I thought that the cases after 77 had the oil pressure modification and used the different springs as shown in Waynes book.
Should I just replace them with same springs?

![]() Your 3.0L SC is the same as a 3.2L Carrera & 3.3L 930. The pressure relief pistons used for the horizontal and vertical assemblies are the same pieces, but you should have a shorter spring for the horizontal assembly. I would replace with what it is supposed to have, as they are dirt cheap. Part numbers are as follows to make it easier: 911 107 512 00 Relief Piston(s) 901 107 531 00 Spring (short) 930 107 531 01 Spring (long) 930 107 533 00 Guide Good luck! ![]() Ralph |
