Are 930 Turbo Pumps No Longer Available?

Just went to the local Porsche dealer to buy a Turbo oil pump (the one with the cast iron housing). They told me that all the pumps now supersede to the GT3 oil pump....can anyone else confirm?

Sorta tee's me off, one of the joys of Porsche has been their willingness to keep parts available. I guess Wendel Wonderking wants a bigger bonus....

Dennis:

I haven't bought a new 930 pump in a few years but that doesn't surprise me.

Hope you noticed that WeenieKing & Friends just bumped the price of GT-3R oil pumps from $ 980-something to $ 1759/each.

For PAG,... "Greed is Good".

Don't remind me....mind you the local dealer gives me a bit of a discount for being a PCA member, so that helps the pain a fair bit.

I guess it makes me now reconsider replacing my Carrera pump with the Turbo (or better) pump. I got a brand new Carrera oil pump with the new case I bought, and while it will likely be fine, but I wanted the extra insurance that the Turbo pump would bring.....sigh.

From what I can gather, the 964 and GT3 pumps are pretty well as stated. I can't find the 996 107 008 70 part number anywhere....so can't tell if it truly is the desired Turbo pump with cast iron housing or whether it is a variation of the GT3 pump?

Anyone know?

BTW Mike, thanks for your effort....who knows, maybe we will actually find the right pump eventually?

Supertech does a modification to the Carrera pump which is supposed to increase flow around 30%. Definitely something to look into with those prices.
