Is this air deflector on alternator cover bent?
When I disassembled my fan/engine shroud I noticed a part of one of the air deflectors on the alternator cover was broken off. Ref pic below. I'm just going to weld it back on, but was wondering if it looks bent? I have no idea what the curvature should look like.

It's supposed to have a curve in it, hard to tell by picture but it looks fine. You should drill out the rivets that hold it to the snail first since it is fiberglass, that way it won't burn during welding.

curvature looks ok but yes obviously it broke off. mine did the same and I put it back together with some sheetmetal and pop-rivets but it wasn't the best solution. if the whole fin was easily available from a breaker I would prefer that. Maybe welding would also be good but airflow is important, even a small bead will break laminar flow (ok I'm no aerodynamicist but you get the idea)
