Dme Temp Sensor?
This is a sensor on an engine w/ 993 block with 964 DME
The sensor has the following markings on it: 6-24V 3W 118 deg C +/- 3degC 12.86 VDO 930 606 118 00 11/12/115 The number doesn't match. Can anyone confirm that it's the DME temp switch and steer me to the correct part number. Thanks! As you can see the electrical connector is broken. ![]()

That number shows in my book as a TEMPERATURE SWITCH for an 84 to 89 911, is that what you wanted to know or do you need the one for the 964?

HI the temp switch in the photo is to switch on the heater blower in the engine compartment if a temp' of 128 +/- 3degC is reached to cool the engine, part No930 606 117 00 temp switch for M64/50 or 930 617 118 00 temp switch for M64/50, both shown on the PET 5, the DME temp sensor is in the No3 head for engine temp and the intake temp is in the airflo meter,
regards mike

Thanks mike. I guess that's why the later cars have the different heat controls. I guess it automattically dumps the heat when the engine compartment fan runs without the footwell blowers?
I'll look at the wiring diagram to see what it's supposed to be wired to and then go see if the wire is still present. I didn't recall disconnecting it when I unhooked the DME harness. Is it supposed to have a tang for a spade connector. Another thing is that maybe I don't have to worry about it for a conversion. I noticed several "fan related wires" that went nowhere because there was one of those bypass tubes on there. You helped me understand a lot. I guess that may also be part of the reason the heater tubes are so much bigger on these cars.
