3.2 with 46mm Webers - Jetting recommendation
I'm installing a set of 46mm Weber carburetors on a freshly rebuild 3.2.
What venturies, mains, idles, etc., should be used? The Webers are of unknown setup (even missing the idle jets). The 3.2 is stock other than ARP rod bolts. Rebuild included new valve guides, bearings, and rings. Valves/seats were ground, rods sized, and heads cut. 1 5/8" headers will be used. The car is primarily a track car but does see occasional street use. I'll be pulling the carbs apart this weekend to check the current set-up. Thanks. Eddie |
Eddie:
I'd use 36mm or 38mm venturies in a stock cammed 3.2 and I'd install: 160 mains 180 air correctors F26 or F3 emulsion tubes 60 idles If these are 1st generation 46's, you might have some issues with the progression circuit and some part throttle surging. 2nd generation Webers were better,...:) |
ummm...
how do u tell first gen's from second? |
Hi:
Honestly, thats very difficult as the differences were the placement-position of the progression holes in the throttle bores. It takes someone intimately familar with these carburetors to spot the differences. |
Steve,
Thanks! I'll pull them apart ASAP. Best regards Eddie |
