Porsche Crest high fuel consumption?

I don't understand why i got so high fuel consumption.
This car is new for me 911 SC -83.
The emission are ok. high but it a old car.
2-2.5 liters per mil when in drive in the town.
My 944 take 1 liter per mil in same drive conditions.
No fuel leak as i can see.

regards
tom

Sorry 1 mil is 10 KM
I think 1 mil is 6,25 miles

Okay; 1liter/10km approximates 23.5 miles per US gallon and 2 to 2.5 liters/10km approximates 9.4 to 11.75 miles per US gallon. The SC will rarely if ever achieve 1 liter/10 km in urban driving conditions; however it should do better than the 9 to 12 mpg you are getting unless you are driving it a "very spirited manner" in which case the high fuel consumption might not be unusual.
Have the mixture checked and check for any misfiring; if the distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires and spark plugs have a lot of time and kilometers on them it may be helpful to your fuel consumption to replace them. Jim

Thanks for your input.
No missfiring and new distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires and spark plugs. I think that the o2 sensor could be the problem.
I have no record about changing history.
