piston oil squrter
I went to change oil in my 2.7 and lo and behold when I emptyed the oil I found the remnants of an oil squirter. Am I destined to fully tear the engine apart or can one be put in after removing a piston for access. Every thing I can see so far looks fine, cams and rockers, and I didnt have any indication that there was a problem but I assume you need the restriction to keep pressure up.
Any one else ever had a problem like this? Thanks for the help. |

if one has come loose then maybe some more will....there is bound to be be bits floating around that didn't turn up in the oil. those bits could end up blocking another squirter/oilway. you could try and install a new squirter and bolt it up/hope for the best but if you are tearing down that far then you may as well go the whole hog and split the case.
