Question Case savers and stud length

Hi all, i have a 2.7 7R case to which i have inserted case savers into. Problem is, the case savers I used from pelican dont seem to be long enough to allow a stud lenght of 135 mm. They bottom out at the end of the case saver, which give me a stud length of 143 mm. (There is plenty of lenght remaining in the hole for the stud to go past the case saver).

Ii tried using a 10mm tap on one of the case savers but now the stud is so loose it can wobble around.

The only solution i can see is to cut 8 mm off the end of the stud.

Anyone have any other ideas ???

sounds to me like you didn't install the case savers deep enough. the one you tapped will be no good either. and cutting the stud is a massive no no. i would think you need to remove the case savers and start again to get them installed deeply enough so that your stud will wind in deep enough to set it at the correct height. what studs are you using? if aftermarket like supertec, arp etc then stud height isn't an issue but it still sounds like you have got an issue.... someone else with more knowledge of case savers may chime in here but if it were me I would take it to a shop that has experience of fitting them and let them do iT
