Leaking valve covers

Ok what next? I've upgraded the valve covers to the turbo, added silicon gaskets and there still leaking. The leaks seem to be coming from the bolts. any ideas? Motor is a 2.7

Absolutely, used new hardware! Just dumped a bunch of money into it to try and stop the leaks. Got most of them resolved, except the valve covers, they seem to be leaking at the Bolts, not along the sides. Made sure they were properly torqued

Does it appear to be the lower bolts only that are leaking?

Are the valve covers new?
If not, they could be slightly warped.
To avoid draining the oil, jack up one side and carefully stuff in jack stands.
Remove the valve cover with a pan to catch a small amount of oil. Check the mating suface carefully with a straight edge and strong light. Be very critical.
If the covers are warped they can be resurfaced by any competent auto machine shop.
Of course if both covers are warped you will need to drain the oil.

Fix any warped covers and then use good gaskets. I've found the best to be the green gaskets with the bead of grey silicon around the perimeter. New hardware not required. The seal is at the gasket not the hardware. Don't over tighten the nuts.

What torque value did you use? Overtightening is as bad as than under tightening. Also, have you checked your rockers? I'm going brain dead here, but if the pin the rockers ride on is not properly installed or if they have worked loose then they will leak oil and it can come out from the same location. Please don't ask how I know...

That's what I was going to say too, check them rocker shafts as they are more guilty of leaks every where and seem to get away with it.!! and if they do not have the "seals stand on your head and put em in, then you will smile !!

Are you sure it is not the oil return tube(s) seal? Can leak at the head and run down to the bottom of the valve cover. Looks like a cover leak.
Best,
Ron

Make sure you removed all the old gasket material. a tiny spec of leftover material will cause a leak.
