2.0-3.0 transplant

I've searched the threads, but can't find anything on this swap. Could someone direct me to any threads they remember. Thanks!

Keeping the CIS or going to carbs/other?

Not sure yet. I would like a chance to evaluate the oportunity costs. I can imagine many of the things that would need to be done, but I would certainly like to fine a thread that explains it in detail.

If you have carbs (I think likely) on your 2.0 and keep using carbs then it's pretty straight forward. You need to match the flywheel to the 901 gearbox or get a 915. You need to come up with an ignition system that will work with an SC distributer. You need to plug the air injector holes on the SC heads by the exhaust ports.

That covers the big items. Smaller stuff like heater set-up will come up as well.

If you want CIS then theres alot more involved.

CIS would be the easiest way to plug and play because it's working well. That involves return fuel line. Do you swap fuel tanks, or rig a return on the current tank? Seems easier to go with 915 trans, but what happens on the installation? Does it fit? What hapens with the axles?
